I am going to get this entry in before I get really busy. I am going to be working on a project this week and therefore be away from my computer most of the time.
First of all, its my 30th birthday today. I thought I might be depressed about it but Im not. I actually feel like my horrible twenties are behind me and I can start fresh. Anyone who knows me knows how much my twenties sucked. I mean, I spent a lot of it being depressed, but thats between us. I will no longer force myself to be happy for anyone else, but at the same time, Im not going to let life get me down. Im tired of getting kicked by it and its time to start fighting back. Its my life and its up to me to react to it in a strong and ladylike fashion.
This weekend, I did not go to my Grandmas. I feel bad about that. But I so badly needed a break that I didnt go. Of course, my guilt itself will propel me to her house next weekend, so Ill be able to make it up to her.
I did a lot of shopping. Yes, I have hit the spending wall. I went virtually nuts with my paycheck last week and bought myself ALL of the things Ive wanted to buy for the last 3 years. Its time to pamper myself. The only thing Im missing is the black leopard purse with marabou feathers. Yes, it is a knockoff, but who needs to know that? Anyway, I special ordered it from a jewelry and gift shop and it will be in this week.
I went to Marshalls on Sunday and some lady had hidden a gift box of Ralph Laurens Glamorous in with the clearance items. I found it. Its my 2nd favorite fragrance, and the box of perfume, body wash and lotion was only $25.00! Im sure it was the only one in the store. I wouldve paid about $65.00 at the mall, so I was thrilled.
We went to the Halloween store again on Sunday. I found a hovering ghost who is voice and sound activated and he raises and lowers himself.
We also bought pumpkins at the plant nursery down on Lemay Ferry.
This weekend, I watched Dax. Hes a great kid and I love him. Something tells me though that his mom will get a great full time job and I wont be babysitting him anymore. I will miss Jackie having someone to play with on the weekends, but I will also treasure not getting out of my pajamas on a rainy Saturday.
Saturday, we went shopping at Toys R Us for Jacobs birthday gift. Jacob is Salsalitas boy.
The kids loved that. I looked at a Yu-Gi-Oh dueling station but they are forty friggin dollars! Im not going to be cheap, but geez! Yu-Gi-Oh stuff is so expensive. In the end, they picked this guy called Major Powers and he came with a huge kit that folds up so he can take it with him.
Jackie is excited about Jacobs birthday party. She really misses him and shes driving me nuts about the party.
Jacob and Lisa, we miss you. Maybe you can come over soon???
Yesterday, since I was off, I wanted to get my hair cut. I went to my favorite place, Salon Paradiso, and they were closed. Harlots!
Then I went to Dillards salon, where they had one stylist and one manager working. They couldnt see me until 5. Well, I was not about to bring Jackie into Dillards salon. I wouldve been asking for it.
Then, I remembered that there was a salon named Glamourama over by Walgreens and Old Navy, so I went there. If they werent open, I wouldve tried Scandals Day spa, but I didnt know if they were open yesterday.
I did get my hair cut. Its nothing special but the dead ends are gone. I told her I was going for Sarah Jessica Parkers wild curls, but she didnt know who she was. Oh, well. Maybe I shouldve tried Scandals, but my stylist at Glamourama was so nice. Her name was Jody, and she was a biker. She did mention that she could do as many colors as I wanted for highlights and it would only cost $60.00. I think I am going to go back for that.
After I got my hair done, I went to get my nails done at Famous Nails. My guy, Hai, wasnt there, so Lana did my nails. She is such a beautiful little woman. I am so jealous.
Then I met up with Rene at his apartment. For my birthday he gave me a rose from Swavorski Crystal and two boxes of chocolates.
After I left Renes, I went to Waldenbooks to get Jackie a couple of joke books, since I forgot to turn in her Scholastic Book order.
My day of beauty was over when I picked up Jackie from school. Good thing, because the weather quickly turned wet and cold, and I was happier inside anyway.
