Nothing huge today. Except that I told my daughter's principal that "I look forward to sleeping with you in the future."
It was supposed to be: " I look forward to speaking with you in the future."
Thanks to Uranus' screwup, I have to confer with the school before I can bring her back since Bongohead "forgot" to put her in school.
The first email I sent:
Hi Steve (don't snicker, he insists the parents call him by his first name),
You probably don't remember me, but my daughter was in Ms. K's kindergarten class this past year.
In April, I had to begin treatment for a severe sleep disorder and chose to send my daughter to finish out her school year in Oregon (on April 18th) at her father's home. It was a hard decision, but I was told that this condition only deteriorates over time if untreated. I told Jackie's teacher that she was leaving and why.
Jacquelyn's father told me he'd go ahead and put Jackie in school and ask the local elementary school to call for Jackie's transcripts.
To make a long story short, he fibbed and never did put her in school. Jackie had a month of kindergarten left, and I'm not only embarrassed about the situation but also very worried that she will not go to first grade this year. Can she still go to first grade?
My daughter is back with me now, and I'm wiser.
I do not know who to contact about this situation to see if it could be remedied.
Please let me know if you have a name of someone I can speak to.
Sincerely,
Melissa
Principal's reply to my first email:
Dear Ms. er, uh, Diva,
Thanks for contacting me regarding your daughter. I do remember you. I hope you are doing well.
Don't worry about your daughter's status. We can get this straightened out somehow.
I need to talk with you about this situation. Please call me or e-mail me with your phone number.
Our office is officially closed right now for re-modeling work, but I do stop by from time to time. I will call you as soon as I can.
S. Nice Principal
Here's a copy of the email reply I sent to his give me your number one: Damn spellcheck doesn't pick up grammatical errors, but I wish it did.
Hi Mr.er, uh, Nice Principle,
Thank you for responding so quickly. I guess I got really lucky because I wasn't sure I'd reach anyone until August! Thank you.
My home phone is blah-48*-Blah and my work number is blah-blah-blah ext. 102.
I feel somewhat better. Jackie's Dad and I, between you and me, told me he didn't put her in school because kindergarten is not required in Oregon (but had told me for a month she was in school). Sigh, it's disappointing. But, well, we're different people. He's still her father.
I'm just glad she's back with me, and by the way, I'm being treated for my sleep issues.
Thank you for your help.
Have a great day!
I look forward to sleeping with you soon,
Melissa
Uh, is that mortifying or what? I didn't know about it until after I'd sent it. I checked to see if I'd included my work number (I had) and that's when I noticed the very last line.
Quickly, I dashed this out:
The last line is supposed to say, "I look forward to speaking with you soon."
I'm am VERY sorry!

Er, I'm going home now.
