I needed the break I got from Jackie this weekend. After all the fighting weve done lately, I just needed to have some time away from her. The arguing was quickly becoming an everyday issue. Im exhausted. If this is what Im going to go through when shes 8, I really dread her being a teenager in the future.
Mom came Friday afternoon to get Jackie. We went out to eat at Tuckers. The food was great. I had shrimp, mom had steak, and Jackie had fried mushrooms and a loaded baked potato.
My only complaint with Tuckers is that they still dont have a kids menu. I dont know if they do this because they consider themselves a steak house, which is mainly frequented by adults, which to them probably negates the need for a kids menu. That kind of stinks.
It was expensive. For the 3 of us to eat it was $50.00 plus the tip.
Oh well. It was nice to treat my mom. Shes treated many times in the past year so it was time to pay her back. My mom always comes down between paydays it seems.
After Mom and Jackie left, I quickly went over to Fashion Bug. They had good sale going, so I got some items I needed plus a cute top to wear Saturday night. It is the black and white top in the photos you see from Saturday.
When I got home, I got ready to go with Lisa and cousin Jacq to see
Monster-in-Law. We had decided on the 9:00 p.m. show.
Even though I have issues with Jane Fonda and previously have referred to her as a commie loving cow, I think she has apologized profusely for her offense against Vietnam Veterans. Everyone makes stupid mistakes.
Mainly, I was going to see Jennifer Lopez and Michael Vartan. He is such a babe. Though in the movie, I felt that he had little personality and was completely oblivious to what was going on between his fianc and his mother. I could see that Jennifer Lopez relished some of the scenes..he he. It is fun to plan revenge.
After the movie got out, we were not tired or ready to go home. Woodys has strippers come in on Fridays and Saturdays now, so we went to go see that. We werent really dressed to go out, but we went anyway.
The usual crowd was at Woodys.
Will came over between dancing with Lisa. He did some magic for me and my cousin.
I got a snapshot I thought was interesting:
I dont know what my obsession is with peoples hands.
The night was pretty subdued for us. I had a few drinks and stopped, because I knew we were going to go out Saturday night. I think we left about 12:30 or so. However, when I got home, I was a little revved up so I ended up staying up watching Original Sin with Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas. Ive seen snippets over that movie and to this day never seen the whole thing. It gets my attention for a while but then I get bored. I ended up going to sleep Friday night before it was over.
Saturday, I was determined to sleep in. But at 9:00 a.m. there was a knock at the door. It turned out to be my Uncle Larry. I wish he wouldve called at least but I forgot I changed my number and Im pretty certain I forgot to give it to him. Grandma died the week I changed my phone number, and Im pretty sure a lot of people didnt get it.
We visited for a while and then Uncle Larry left. I had some things I wanted to do while Jackie was gone, but what it comes down to is that I didnt feel like doing anything because I was tired. I think I mightve washed some dishes.
I bummed around all day. I went to Dollar General and bought Jackie some snacks. Then I headed over to Value Citys plant nursery and bought a flowering hanging plant. I think its some kind of pink geranium. Usually I like something more exotic and Id probably go to a few different places, but it was too hot for all that business. I plunked down my $11.23 and left.
I went home and did a little tidying up. Then, I cleared off the kitchen table. I decided thats going to be the packing center for Jackies trip to Oregon. I got everything situated that I planned to that day.
Later, I called Lisa to see if she wanted to go over to Marshalls with me. I needed to find a large cosmetic bag for all of Jackies toiletries. I remembered seeing some for around $5.00 at Marshalls.
She was all game. She and Jake drove over to get me.
I did find Jackie a cosmetic bag. It was on sale for $5.99. I saw the original tag on it and the bag regularly retails for $28.00! I also found a large hatbox for Jackies artwork on clearance for $5.00. Lisa found some capris and also some shorts and a shirt for Jackie, $5.00 each.
Lisas ex, Hoe, asked Lisa to drop Jake off around 5:00 p.m. That was a circus.
After that, we hung out at Lisas. We made Jackies CD for when she misses me in Oregon. I thought it turned out good, until later I listened to it. I had mistaken some club songs Jackie likes for the clean versions, and they were so not clean. I knew Id have to make another CD. I can just see Jackie singing the raunchy version of In Da Club with her Mormon grandparents in the car.
That would be bad.
Lisa was getting ready when Doug came home. We chatted for a while.
Lisa looked so cute. Shes wearing that cute strapless black top in the pictures. I love that top!
We went back to my place around 8:30 or so. I ran around trying to get ready. Jackie (my cousin) called and told me that she and her date, John, were on their way. I was excited about meeting this new guy.
Lisa and I took some photos while I was getting ready:
Jacq and her new guy got to my house around 9:30. From the moment I met him, I felt like he was a perfect guy for her. I didnt get a single solitary bad vibe from him.
We had decided on The Dam beforehand, but it didnt bode well when we got over there and there wasnt a single solitary car in the parking lot. It was dead! So, driving all over town wasnt an option with the cops and all the drunks out: we decided on our old stand-by, Woodys.
It was still pretty early, so we got a good parking space. I was quite surprised to see a guy in a thong in the parking lot! Oh, the stripper, now we remember.
We even got a table! The DJ was spinning some fierce jams and it was a disco mix. I love Disco, so I was happy. John was a sweetheart. I could totally see why my cousin likes him. He was such a gentleman and very kind and generous. Im not kidding when I say that neither my cousin, nor me, nor Lisa, paid for a thing all night long! Im not used to that. Im used to the kind of guys who want to go halfsies on a meal at McDonalds.
I was drinking Vanilla White Russians. These are actually made with Vanilla Vodka.
Boy, are they yummy!
My cousin was making eyes at John. You can see in the photographs that she totally digs him! It was cute.
Chris was there with his friend David. David is the cute black guy. I was actually so intoxicated that I grabbed his butt. We all snickered over that!
DJ was there. I guess some people have issues with the fact that he is a cop. I think hes a sweetheart!
My favorite picture of the evening is this hot sailor that came in. You know what I was thinking!
I talked to him after I took his picture, or Lisa took his picture, I dont remember. We talked briefly about being in the Navy. I told him I was a radioman. He told me he is an AW2. I dont remember what an AW is, and I was embarrassed when he asked me because I forgot.
Also note that he is wearing a Presidential Medal and that he is a recruiter.
His name is Aaron.
I dont know what his friends names were. Check out the guy in the back of the picture. What is up with that expression on his face?
Here is Big Daddy and I. I dont actually know his real name, but hes always a gentleman and keeps the creeps away from Jackie and me. Ive never been able to get his picture before, so this is doubly special!
We had a blast!
Will was there too. He did a little magic, but also a lot of talking. He was acting a little strange too and giving off these weird vibes. I dont know what his issue was, but at the end of the night, at closing time, he got into a fight with some guy.
Instinctively, me, Lisa, Jackie and John hauled butt out of there. Will started calling Lisa but she didnt answer. She was really freaked out by the way he was acting that evening.
By this time, I was feeling no pain. We headed off to go eat at Steak NStank. I was drunk and delirious, which probably entertained everyone to no end.
Im just glad we ate. No telling what I wouldve felt like on Sunday otherwise.
When I got home, I couldnt sleep. So I sat up for an hour watching an old Jackie Chan movie originally filmed in another language. It was funny. Their mouths were moving but you could tell that that wasnt really what they were saying.
Sunday, I got up at noon. Bad idea. I shouldve gotten up earlier.
It took me 3 hours to get the laundry ready, however, the Laundromat was basically empty. I had six friggin loads of laundry to do. I dont know what the hell Jackie is doing with all the towels in the house to use 7 in a week.
After I did laundry, I headed over to Lisas to burn a cd for Jackie without the trashy versions of In Da Club and Do ya think Im sexy. I also made a booty music CD for me.
The rest of the evening was pretty boring.
Monday, I got up and got dressed. I headed out to Florissant to go get Jackie. God bless Mom for giving me a 3-day weekend without my daughter. I love my kid but shes an emotionally demanding child and sometimes I just get tired of dealing with it. I know when you have kids you sign up for drama, but this is ridiculous. Id like to have a day where little Jackie and I can have a conversation without some angst and whining!
Mom had barbecued. I spent some time chatting with my sister Maggie and her boyfriend. I dont think Ill ever get along with that guy. He just seems like the type to think he knows all the answers. That drives me nuts!
I headed home early, around 3. On the way home, Jackie and me listened to the CD I made her. I think she really likes it! We stopped at QT to get some milk and bread.
And thats it. Im spent.
