The interview was supposed to be done at 4:30 or 5:00. I got a call at 4:00 and it was Alex Fees. He was waiting for an interview with Jennifer Joyce, Circuit Attorney, and was running late. That was fine with me. I was so nervous and needed the extra time to cool down.
I couldnt believe it. Channel 5 actually came out in one of those vans with what looks like a satellite dish on top. That was cool.
I did the interview with gorgeous Alex. He looks like he might be in his very late thirties with gray. Hes beautiful.
The interview went relatively well until every little while Id get really nervous, blank out, and say, crap, crap, CRAP! Hed reassure me, tell me to calm down and wed start again.
I think the cameraman had the hots for me. I talked with him a lot when we were between shooting and wellhe was just very cute in an aww shucks sort of way. He saw my rats and told me hed had them in college.
Ill say again that Alex was luscious. I was a bit intimidated by him because, after all, I was used to Ann Rubin.
However, before I knew it, it was over and they were gone.
It was agony waiting for the interview to air. I watched a couple stupid shows and waited. By now I was an old pro at interviews so I wasnt so nervous anymore about the way I looked but I was worried about the way I sounded.
The interview aired at 10:00 p.m., top story. Gee, maybe I shouldnt have worn red lipstick because on TV I looked like a brunette Ronald McDonald. I was a fashion dont. Crap.
Rod*ney Lin*colns stepdaughter had the NERVE to get on TV and be outraged that Rodn*ey wasnt getting out of jail. I think, Im sorry to say, that she doesnt have the right to be outraged because she wasnt the one attacked, he didnt murder her mother. That, that, witch. I think if I ever saw her in public I might smack her.
She also had the nerve, to quote the transcripts of the trial, to bring up the fact that I said we had to go over the water and bridge to get to his house. If Oblivia had went further into the transcripts she wouldve found out that I was talking about a viaduct. I was 7. I didnt know what to call a viaduct. I told them we went over a bridge to get to his house.
Whatta ya know? There really was a viaduct close to his house.
Then, she had the nerve to say, Theres discrepancies like that all over the case. Yeah, thats a big word for someone with no teeth.
Im being ignorant, I know. I cant help but be mad that this girl, who was 5 or 6 when this happened, thinks its her job to clear her stepfathers good name. Gee, I think his good name was tarnished back when he killed a man in the park with a hammer. That was a full seven years before he met my mom.
Ooh. Im mad, but I feel sorry for the girl. She blindly believes her stepfathers lies.
Saturday I watched Romy get her flowerbed ready for some plants. That was briefly entertaining.
Otherwise, I was exhausted from the weeks events, so it was a pretty dull day. We didnt do a lot. My house was a friggin mess but I didnt feel like cleaning.
Sunday I woke up late. Thank God for the time change. Jackie had to tell me to wake up about 6 times. I had decided that we were going to go try the St. Lukes Methodist Church on Telegraph Road. We had went there a week back hoping to peruse the racks of their ReSell It Shop. However, it was closed. No matter, we talked to one of the parishioners who was loading furniture in the back and he was really nice.
I wasnt disappointed. When we walked in Sunday morning, a whole 5 minutes late, we were given palm leaves. We were seated. Everyone was so nice. The bishop came back and introduced himself. The older couple sitting next to us introduced themselves as Lois and Bob and they were old school Methodists and they had just transferred to this church.
They also have a short meet and greet, and everyone was friendly and introduced themselves.
After a lovely service, we left and went home. I sorted the laundry while Jackie changed out of her itchy dress. Then, I shredded a bunch of bank statements Id kept in the car for like, a year. I cant believe I hold on to stuff for so long.
After we did laundry we came home and dropped it off. I decided it was time to clean the car out because it was a huge mess. We went up to the car wash and did a major clean up.
Rene told me last week he was going to take me out to celebrate the case being closed. At 6:00 p.m., he came by and took us to Red Lobster. The man is allergic to seafood, but he insists on trying out the different kinds to see which ones will make him sick. Sigh. He had a salmon salad. I had stuffed flounder. Jackie had snow crab legs with veggies.
All in all, it was a good weekend, even if it went too fast.
