Shoshana Johnson was wounded and captured with five other soldiers when their convoy was ambushed on March 23, 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After 21 days as a POW, U.S. Marines rescued Johnson and the other soldiers after house raids in the city of Samarra, Iraq. Specialist Johnson retired from the Army on a Temporary Disability Honorable Discharge on December 12, 2003. Johnson's awards and decorations include the US Army Service Ribbon, Army Commendation Ribbon, National Defense Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, and the Prisoner of War Medal.
Im thinking that I might go. It would be an honor to meet her.

Im sitting here eating Girl Scout cookies and trying to wipe away the 10th fat tear thats rolled down my cheek since I got to work. I hate this. Something in the air is causing only my right eye to water continuously. Im really mad because its messing up my meticulously applied makeup.
Speaking of the GS cookies: my dog ate almost an entire box of Tagalongs the other night. I had just gotten the cookies from Paige and I opened them because I LOVE Tagalongs. I cannot resist the peanut butter and chocolaty goodness. I ate like, 3, and closed the box and set the box on the couch next to me.
Yesterday I saw the box on the couch but wasnt really hungry so I didnt eat any.
This morning I got up and stepped on a piece of plastic. Enough light was shining into the bedroom where I realized that it was the plastic that held the GS cookies. Toby, who happened to be standing next to me, immediately looked guilty and hauled butt out of the bedroom. That little turd. He actually worked on the box until it came open, then somehow tore of the remaining plastic wrap, and ate all of the cookies. About 8 of them. However, he wasnt smart enough to hide the evidence, namely, the plastic and plastic wrap.
I was so mad.
Dog is on my doo-doo list lately. Hes been having accidents, mainly in Jackies room, and has been chewing up everything on the floor. I actually caught him chewing on my beautiful entertainment center and put a stop to that real quick.
Our potty walks have to be purposeful; Ive come to that conclusion. Ive learned that though I need to give him ample time to go potty on our morning and evening walks, I also need to communicate when the time is up its time to go inside. Its not time to chase squirrels, cats, birds, etc, but time to do your business and be done with it.
Im learning patience quickly.
Toby is starting to understand that he shouldnt pull so hard on the leash. Ive started stopping when hes doing that so sometimes he actually stops and sits when I stop. Or, he walks slowly.
Hes also learned to leave the gerbils alone. I guess the trick of turning on the vacuum cleaner whenever hed paw on the cage worked. He will sit and stare at them but will not paw the cage now. Yay.
Toby is actually very smart, if stubborn. I think hes starting to get that Im the boss in these here parts and Im the law around here. No dog is more stubborn than me.
I wanted to find out what my name means. I got the idea from Boxx9000.
